Title: Audio Visual Technician - AV Tech - A/V Technician

Location:  Chantilly, Virginia and on site customer locations at many different defense and intelligence entities.

Clearance: All levels needed but ideally Top Secret.  We also need TS/SCI with CI Poly or Full Scope Poly (NSA - Ft. Meade)

Summary:
AV Technician position includes mechanical assembly, wiring and test of AV systems in one of the Pre-Installation, Test and Check Out Facilities (PITCO), mechanical installation, wire pulling, wire termination, labeling, and adjustments in customer facilities. It also requires installing fiber optic cable (fiber certifications desirable), cable dressing, reading/marking up wiring documentation and operational training of customer personnel. Technicians are called upon to troubleshoot and repair systems during installation and during ongoing support of facilities over the lifetime of the systems.  Technicians are trained to become master operators of AV systems and key support personnel for high visibility commercial and government facilities based on the knowledge they gain.

Requirements:
  • Requires minimum of 2 years of experience in installation and/or maintenance of electronics, security, video surveillance, card access or alarm systems.
    • We also have senior roles that require at least 10 years of experience
  • Requires a Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Requires a Top Secret clearance or above
Skills should include: 
Mechanical installation, wire pulling, soldering, terminal crimping, labeling, installing fiber optic cable (fiber certifications desirable), cable dressing , rack assembly, reading and marking up wiring documentation, timesheet completion by job, good driving record, ability to maintain appropriate clearance, good communications skills, good workplace demeanor (working in front of customers), organizational skills (tools, worksite, time, work assignments, documentation).  Knowledge of basics of television, computer video, windows computer environment, RS-232, infrastructure wiring standards, audio wiring standards, fiber optics, grounding and shielding, acoustics and sound, projection optics, lighting principles, ohm's law, high voltage electrical wiring safety, construction site safety, etc.

Specific desired experience, skills and certifications are as follows:
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), ACS (Access Control Systems), and CCTV systems
  • Experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • Understanding of Electronic circuit testing procedures.testing devices.
  • Experience using Volt/ AMP meter and related
  • CTS from InfoComm, CFOS Certification from FOA Approved School Desirable
